Vincent Penkrot

Vincent Penkrot is a Fellow Engineer in the Fuel Engineering Technologies Department of Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels.

Vince has spent nearly 25 years as a software engineer and database administrator with a focus on developing scientific and engineering applications.  Vince hold a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Computer Science where he focused on database systems, being advised by Dr. Panos Chrysanthis. Early in his career, Vince served as a research software engineer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, as a Mentor and Course Developer for iCarnegie Global Learning and as Software Engineer and Database Administrator for Nationwide Appraisal and Title Services.  Since joining Westinghouse in 2006, Vince has held positions of increasing technical responsibility in the areas of software engineering, software quality assurance and software product planning for engineering simulation software used at 58 reactor sites throughout the world.  Vince holds a Design for Six Sigma Greenbelt and is a highly experienced Causal Event investigator. 

Prior to his service on the Alumni Board, Vince served on the Computer Science Department’s Industry Board where he served a term as Vice Chairman.

Vince’s passion serving SCI is in the areas of mentoring and student career preparation.
