Graduate Student Ambassadors are current SCI graduate students who can provide a firsthand perspective on being a graduate student at the School of Computing and Information. They can answer questions about their student experience, academics, research, and life in Pittsburgh.
Note: While ambassadors can provide the student perspective, official graduate admissions questions should be directed to the Graduate Admissions Manager.
Hi! My name is Uma, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Intelligent Systems at the University of Pittsburgh. Before joining Pitt, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, where I developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking and data-driven problem solving. I’m always happy to chat about the Intelligent Systems program, student life at Pitt, or my experience as an international graduate student. Feel free to reach out via email or book an appointment with me!
Hello! I'm Brandon and I'm a first-year master's student pursuing my Master's in Information Science, with a specialization in Human-Centered Computing (HCI) at SCI, where I also work as a course assistant to our MDS program. I previously graduated with a BS in Computer Science and worked in industry as a QA Lead. I love engaging in research on how to improve the status quo of social computing and AI usage. If you have any questions about SCI or Pittsburgh or just want to chat, please reach out!
