Undergraduate Research Scholars

An education in computing and information is empowering, as it enables you to explore and contribute to the solution of problems within and at the confluence of the world’s complex and interacting natural, social, and engineered systems. Our undergraduate programs offer a variety of opportunities for you to pursue innovative research as part of your degree. SCI offers several opportunities to help offset the costs associated with pursuing research and creative efforts.

Network of Undergraduate Researchers (NOUR)

NOUR is a program that aims to build a network of undergraduate SCI students who support each other to perform high-quality research, mentored by SCI faculty and PhD students during the summer term.

Applications are accepted through this survey each year starting at the beginning of Spring Term through the beginning of Summer Term. Applicants who are accepted into the program receive a stipend. All students will be notified before the beginning of the program if they have been selected or not. Students with complete applications but who are not chosen initially will be placed on the waitlist, should any of the initially selected students decline their invitation. If selected, this program requires 15 hours a week of participation commitment.

  • Identify at least one SCI faculty member who will supervise the proposed effort
