Nate Homitsky

Nate Homitsky is an IT, software engineering, and business administration leader who has worked in several different roles at Aerotech since graduating with his bachelor’s degree in computer science and philosophy (SCI 2007). He started out in web development, where his projects and database-focused experience led him to join IT as a database systems engineer. He completed his dual MBA/MIS from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business in 2016. Nate also participated in a corporate enterprise resource planning (ERP) selection and implementation project that influenced nearly every aspect of the business. He then spent more than five years as Aerotech's software engineering manager, leading development efforts for the new flagship motion control platform—Automation1. Nate most recently worked as director of IT before being named a vice president in 2022, overseeing the creation of a new analytics team.

Under Nate’s direction, Aerotech has sponsored and participated in a wide variety of Pitt engagements, including: SCI Week, guest lectures, job fairs, resume reviews, mock interviews, club events, SCI Learning Academy mentorship and Shark Tank, student mentorship programs, and a semester-long cybersecurity penetration testing class. He also served as an industry client for a Pennsylvania Robotics & Technology Fellowship project in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of Pitt graduate students. Nate was recently featured in the SCI 2024 Annual Report as a corporate sponsor spotlight, and he is currently serving as SCI’s representative to the Pitt Alumni Association Board of Directors and the chair of the SCI Alumni Board’s Graduation Committee.
