SCI Graduate Students Anthony Sicilia and Katherine Atwell, as well as Dr. Malihe Alikhani, an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, and Dr. Seong Jae Hwang, an assistant professor at Yonsei University, won the Best Paper Award at the 2022 Conference on Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence (UAI).
Their paper “PAC-Bayesian Domain Adaptation Bounds for Multiclass Learners” addresses the lack of appropriate theoretical description for multi-class neural networks' nonuniform sample complexity in adaptation literature.
