Research Areas

Databases and Data Management

With data playing a key role in decision-making for business, healthcare, transit, and so much more, good data management and databases are integral. Research conducted around databases and data management explores how to better collect, store, organize, retrieve, and use the data that drives decision-making across industries. Researchers in this area explore how to build, design, implement, and evaluate data storage to improve performance, efficiency, security, accessibility, and more.

Frances Corry Explores the Afterlives of Digital Platforms

“We think of our daily posts on social media as incidental rather than being an important historical document. But you know, 50 years on, it might look different,” said Frances Corry, an assistant professor in the Department of Information Culture and Data Stewardship.
