For more than 120 years, we have been educating, mentoring, and empowering future leaders, librarians, archivists, and other information professionals to understand and address the information needs of people, organizations, and communities.
We are committed to contributing to the common good through community-centered scholarship and teaching in data, information, and library studies.
Leading-Edge Courses
Our curriculum addresses the latest skills and technologies available in the library and information fields while staying customizable to meet students' individual career objectives.
Hands-On Learning
Experiential learning is a cornerstone of our degree programs. Opportunities through the Design Methods Sequence, field experience, practicum, and our Partners Program are available.
Socially Embedded Research
Our faculty participate in research that aims to answer critical questions regarding data management, preservation, libraries, and more with social impact in mind.
Accreditation
The American Library Association (ALA) accredits master’s programs in library and information studies across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. In 2021, our MLIS Program was successfully re-accredited by the ALA for seven years until 2028.
