SCI alumna Maria Harrington has recently created technological tools to help people explore nature through virtual and augmented reality. Her virtual reality game, called Virtual UCF Arboretum, provides users with an opportunity to explore the University of Central Florida’s arboretum, which contains 274 acres of natural habitat. MLIS Student Selected as Spectrum Scholar by the American Library Association
Current Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) student Kahlila Chaar-Pérez was recently awarded a 2020 Spectrum Scholarship by the American Library Association’s (ALA) Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services. The Spectrum Scholarship Program actively recruits and provides assistance to students who are obtaining graduate degrees within the field of library and information science. This year’s Spectrum Scholars were selected based on their commitment to community building, leadership potential, and planned contributions to making social justice part of their
