Jennifer Gentzel

Jen joined SCI in June 2022. Before working in higher education, she taught English in Japan for 3 years as an Assistant Language Teacher through the JET Program, and then participated in a similar program (TAPIF) to teach English in France for 7 months.

Since moving back to the U.S. in 2015, has gained experience working in international education, in both International Student Services and Study Abroad, and is passionate about the benefits of intercultural experiences and communication. Her master’s thesis explored how study abroad participants are able to connect with the host culture and how they can get the most out of study abroad.

In her free time, she enjoys video games, sci-fi and fantasy novels, playing board games with family and friends, and studying languages.
