SCI Faculty Selected as Chair of Information Culture and Data Stewardship

August 3, 2020

SCI Associate Professor Mary K. Biagini was recently selected as Chair of the Department of Information Culture and Data Stewardship (ICDS).

“To lead as Chair is a welcome challenge to tackle with the ICDS faculty,” said Biagini.  “I’ve always been a learner and learning from the faculty, students, and alumni of the Department of Information Culture and Data Stewardship during the time of the pandemic is the learning experience of my professional life.”

ICDS’s programs focus on the skills, knowledge, and ethical practices of the information professions and share insights into the broader role of information in culture and society. The department has welcomed nine new faculty members since Fall Term 2018 and recently redesigned its Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) curriculum.

In addition to her duties as Associate Professor, Biagini leads the School Library Certification Program, and her research interests include continuing education, online education, and school-library media-center management.

Please join us in congratulating Biagini on her new position!
