Current MLIS student Amanda Sawyer was recently chosen to be part of the 2020-2021 class of the National Library of Medicine (NLM)’s Associate Fellowship Program, which is the world’s largest biomedical library and part of the National Institutes of Health. The Associate Fellowship is a residency program for recent library science graduates who are interested in a career in health sciences librarianship. The Fellows participate in various library projects, such as data analysis of programs and services, creation of online tutorials and educational awareness videos, social media outreach, and legislative tracking.
Sawyer will graduate with her MLIS in August of 2020. She has a background in archives and digital services in both museums and libraries and has previously worked as the Digital Projects Assistant at Duquesne University’s Gumberg Library, where she contributed to data analysis and visualization projects, managed digital collections, and provided reference services.
