Students have the opportunity to apply for small team-based projects that provide them with real-world consulting experience. Small teams work together under faculty supervision to produce real deliverables for local stakeholders.
This collaborative program between the School of Computing and Information and the Office of PittServes, launched in fall 2015, strives to leverage the talents and aspirations of students to create meaningful volunteer projects with local organizations. Utilizing a skill-based inventory, organizations have the opportunity to submit project proposals for student volunteers to complete during the fall and spring semesters.
This program encourages students to utilize their technical skillsets to better the local Pittsburgh community, while gaining invaluable real-world experience. Since the program launched, more than 100 students volunteer have partnered with 25 local community partners to complete more than 20 projects.
